ABOUT A MINI WITH ME
Minis are 25 minutes in duration. Minis are perfect if you're looking to update your annual photos but don't have time for a full length session or are worried your little ones might not sit still for long enough. It's also a great way for us to get know each other and see if you like my approach. My sessions are super low pressure and most of my clients tell me - we hate having our photo taken! So you won't find me asking you to sit still, or smile, or any funny cheesy lines. I like to bring a rug and follow the pace of the children. Some of us like slow and relaxed, some of like fast and excited. I'll match your pace and together we'll create a beautiful keepsake of this time in your families life. I promise you'll leave thinking - that was actually really nice - and you'll soon have real, tangible prints in your home to remember your day in the park.
What will we receive?
- 10 digital high resolution images picked by you from a gallery of images
- fine art prints for 4 images - 3 will be 5 x 7 size and 1 will be 8 x 10 - you get to pick
- a personalised online gallery for viewing - you'll make your selection of images from this gallery
- digitals and prints above the package can be purchased additionally
The fee is £240. 50% booking fee is required to confirm your spot and balance is payable on or before your session.
If the skies are grey, the mini will go ahead. If it's raining we will reschedule to a mutually agreeable date.
*Not suitable for newborns, or extended family sessions.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT?
I love really natural and unposed photographs. I like to chat to you all first and get to know a little about you and give your children a chance to warm up. I like to ask questions when I'm taking photographs to get people to relax and look at each other. I love photographs where people connect with each other and/or the camera. My sessions are best when they are unscripted, full of life, connection and movement. Then we shoot some photos and that will be it! My sessions are very low pressure and I don't like to do much posing.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
Whatever you feel comfortable in and reflects you and your location choice. You want to feel good and relaxed. I always suggest you wear what you would if you were going to that location anyway. Some people like to have their outfits match for photographs, others don't. I'm a fan of co-ordinated but I don't recommend matchy matchy. Compliment each other. Jeans and white shirts is not recommended. Be yourselves. I do ask you avoid heavy plaid, brand names scrawled across shirts and any solid red blocks of clothing just because it really draws the eye. That said if your favourite dress is red, or your child really, really, must wear a certain shirt that day then wear it. We'll make it work. Most important is everyone feels good and happy. This also applies to partners - you can spot a partner a mile off who has been instructed what to wear. Be yourselves and your energy will come through. I'm alway happy to chat about your location and suggestion outfits so from me a line or call me if you want to chat. I will send a mood board with inspiration once you are booked in.
WHAT IF MY CHILDREN HAVE A TANTRUM OR WON'T CO-OPERATE?
I have a 6 year old and a 4 year old so I know that you never can tell what will happen on the day so I really encourage people to keep it simple and fun. We'll work it out. My best advice is to let the children do what comes naturally. Too much fussing or instruction tends to result in tantrums or clamming up or they feel overwhelmed and everyone gets stressed. My best photos are the ones where the people are just being themselves without guidance. The moments will come. During the session you might worry we aren't getting the right photos but leave that bit to me. At all times you should take a moment out if you want to. There is no pressure to perform and if you want to take a few minutes out we'll do that.
